Ep 97: Simplifying Parenting and Connecting with Your Kids with Dr. Sarah Bren

As a parent, I constantly wonder if I am doing the right thing, teaching my child the things they need to know, and helping them become independent. Some days I feel like I nailed it and other days feel like a failure.

However, my journey toward minimalism has had some wonderful overlap when it comes to the rest of my life - outside of the stuff in my home. It has helped me become more intentional and that includes how I spend my time and the relationships I have. Of course the most important relationships in my life are those with my partner and that with my daughter.

Since, there is always much to learn in this life, I brought in an expert when it comes to the parent/child relationships we have.

Dr. Sarah Bren is a licensed clinical psychologist and mom of two, whose passion is helping parents find their inner confidence and raise healthy, resilient kids. She is the host of the podcast Securely Attached, and the creator of the website drsarahbren.com where she offers resources such as guides, workshops, and digital courses. She is the co-founder and clinical director of Upshur Bren Psychology Group in Pelham, NY where she treats parents, children and families.

Sarah has such a calming presence and you call tell she practices what she preaches. It was a fun conversation and I learned more about attachment parenting, gained confidence in some of the techniques I have been using in my own life, and found encouragement for the developmental stages that are awaiting me as my daughter grows up and matures.

This episode of the Wannabe Minimalist Show will also help you discover:
