Simple Peach Pie Recipe
I love peaches. They are one of my favorite things about summer. So, when my friend Mandy and I stumbled upon a fruit stand on the side of the road, of course we opted for a giant box of fresh organic peaches. When we got them home we realized that our eyes were bigger than our stomaches and we were not sure we'd be able to eat them all so we did what any smart person would do and turned all of that delicious fruit into an even more delicious dessert! The pie was delicious and if you're lucky enough to have too many peaches, now is a good time to make a pie. Especially with this simple peach pie recipe that you can make with ingredients you probably have on hand.Pies are pretty simple to put together. You can either purchase a store-bought crust or make your own. Really it just depends on how much time you have, but pie crusts come together pretty easily if you choose to make your own.For our purposes, we used a store-bought crust. We started by peeling the skin off the peaches. Dunking a whole peach in boiling water for about 10 seconds makes this go much faster. Then we sliced the peaches. In a separate bowl we combined the syrup ingredients and once mixed up, added the peaches in.
All of this basically gets dumped into the pie crust and baked until golden brown.
That's it. Serve with whipped cream, a scoop of natural vanilla ice cream, or devour it straight from the oven (I promise not to judge!).[yumprint-recipe id='8']Do you have any favorite recipes your trying to squeeze in before summer is long gone?
