Homemade Eggnog Ice Cream Recipe

I'm finally using my KitchenAid Ice Cream Maker!!! I must really like my stand mixer and attachment because this is not the first time I've written about them. These were the two items on our wedding registry that I was the most excited about and the most sad to put in storage earlier this year. Then when we moved into our place in August, I got out the ice cream attachment and it was broken. Sad! But, thankfully KitchenAid was great and sent me a replacement right away. I have had a ton of fun making different ice creams and am finally writing about my latest creation - a homemade eggnog ice cream recipe! This past week my blogging buddy, the amazing Megan Leigh Sweeney, came over for a creative day and I wanted to make us a treat. This time of year is full of so many rich tastes and eggnog ice cream sounded like a perfect option. I have been modifying Brett's grandmother's ice cream recipe and so far, so good.

Grandma's homemade ice cream recipe

Her recipe is pretty simple, but is specific to her old ice cream maker. Grandma Me's maker must have been bigger than mine, because in order to get the right texture, I've had to cut down on the amount of half & half I use. I also cut out the eggs because cooking them is a pain and it doesn't seem to affect the taste enough to go through the effort.Making Homemade Ice Cream To modify this for eggnog ice cream I cut down on the half & half and swapped out just over half of the milk for eggnog. The amount of sugar stayed the same, but I decreased the vanilla down to 2 tablespoons.  Simple homemade eggnog ice cream recipe ingredients[yumprint-recipe id='9']Oh yea...this post is not sponsored either. I know I'm chatting about KitchenAid a lot, but I just really like the stand mixer and ice cream attachment. However, if you're from KitchenAid and reading this, I'd love to test out your other attachments in exchange for my honest opinions.
