Interview Questions & What to Expect
The Wannabe Minimalist Show is all about helping listeners simplify their lives by sharing your story and the details for how you’ve simplified, decluttered, or organized life for you and your family.
The focus is on giving a ton of value! We want to help listeners learn from you and apply your experience to their own situations.
That’s why the more transparent you can be about exact tactics and strategies you’ve used - what worked and what didn’t - the more they’ll love you and enjoy our episode. Really I want you to show them what’s possible and feel they are totally capable of achieving their own level of success.

Structure of our Podcast Interview
Below you’ll find the general flow & interview questions that I will potentially ask you during the interview.
1.) Deanna gives a short intro.
I will begin by giving a short introduction – like really short. I usually make this more personal – how we know each other, my connection to you and what I believe you stand for and your special talents and expertise to set the scene.
2.) What’s your story?
I’ll ask you to give a short intro to yourself, and then I’ll dig deeper into this as the interview goes on, drawing out the nuggets of your story of how/why you believe in a more simplified lifestyle. Listeners of the podcast love hearing about the failures and success and the juicy tips only you can offer.
3.) Tell me more
Together we will hone in on 1-2 key concepts that you can speak to as an expert and dive deeper into these.
4.) Actionable tips
The more specific you can be about steps you’ve taken to achieve what you have the better. I will ask for these throughout the episode relative to what we’re discussing so that listeners can take action and apply them straight away.
For example:
Three things you can do today to declutter your kids toys
Three actionable tips for setting up a schedule that works for you
Three must-know organization hacks for your pantry that don’t cost a lot
Three actions you can take today to change your relationship with money
5.) Sending you love
I’ll finish up with where people can find you online, your website and best social media sites. These links will be shared in the podcast writeup including any resources, products or sites we discussed during the interview.
Next steps and what you need to know:
Please go ahead and book in for 45 minutes here for a time that suits us both
Interviews typically range from 25-35 minutes. The meeting will be over Zoom and we can do audio only or audio/video. It would be great to at least get a screenshot for social media.
Before we begin please turn off any notifications on your laptop that may sound in the background and your phone.
Make sure you have a good mic and a quiet space to conduct the interview where possible.
We will need a high-resolution photo of you that you personally like and best represents you (not the stock standard media photo) so we can turn this into the podcast show cover image. I will also need a bio - 2 - 3 sentences - to use in the post write up.
