Ep 74: Staying Organized at Christmas Q & A

It's the most wonderful time of the year. At least that's what the songs and marketers tell us anyway. We're constantly told that the holiday season is supposed to feel special and magical. Christmas is a time filled with love, laughter, coziness, and connection. But, can I be honest with you? The holidays are stressful. Or at least they can be if you try to do all the things, be at all the places, and close your eyes as you repeatedly swipe your credit card and buy more stuff than you need.

That's why as a family we said enough was enough and gradually over the past few years have honed in on what we really want to focus on for the holiday season. And I am not alone. Throughout the years I have continued to get questions about how to simplify decorations and gift giving, how to find more meaning and connection, and how to keep a home organized in spite of the hustle and bustle.

So, I thought it was time to do a Q & A session to tackle your big questions for the season. I chat a bit about what we do for the holidays to keep it meaningful yet simple and stress-free as well as what you can do to prepare for the season in your own home.

This episode of the Wannabe Minimalist Show will also help you:

  • Determine what the holidays mean for you

  • How to recreate the magic you felt as a child

  • Why more stuff is not the answer

  • Ways to cut back on toys and gifts but not feel like Scrooge

  • Simple decoration ideas to cut down on clutter but not the festive feel
