Ep 118: The Secret to Taking Control of Your Finances so You Can Live It Up with Patrina Dixon

When I talk with people about living with less and decluttering, a lot of the conversations end up coming back to money - whether it’s spending it or saving it.

And it’s not surprising. There are a lot of similarities when it comes to the stuff in our home. Savers might have less items or choose to DIY more. Spenders often have more decor or seasonal items, trendier pieces or just more in general.

Often feeling overwhelmed by the stuff in our homes goes hand in hand with feeling stressed about the amount of money (or lack of) we see in our bank accounts.

That’s why I love having personal finance experts on my podcast.

This week, I was thrilled to speak with Patrina Dixon about taking control of our finances so we can live our lives to the fullest. As we discuss on the show, personal finance is personal so I love getting to learn from other people about what has worked on their personal journey.

We had an awesome conversation and toward the end, I ask her for an example of how she rewards herself. You might be surprised by her answer, but even more surprised by how I respond.
